KATHUA: Aam Admi Party (AAP) Unit Kathua, Jammu JK (UT) , organised a rally and submitted a memorandum to LG through Deputy Commissioner Kathua on behalf of people of Jammu and Kashmir, and demanded that 300 units of electricity supply to all domestic connections be given free of cost. Those Party senior leaders who are participated in the program are Sewak Singh ,Ravi Shastri, Mehar Singh, Gurmeet Singh ,Younis Naik, Balwinder Singh, Mahesh Sudan, Hira lal verma , Rasvinder Singh , Harpreet Singh, Np singh , Sher Singh , Gagandeep Singh, Kapoor Singh, Rohit Khosla, RS sudan, Anita Nargotra, Paramjeet Kour, Swarn singh bali, Capt Joginder Kumar, Surinder Bhagat , Anil Kumar verma, Capt Jarnail Singh , Sandeep Sharma, Narinder singh jangi Prithpal Singh, Amir khan etcAam Aadmi Party leaders said that the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir is blessed with abundant power generating capacity and has many hydro power projects installed and managed by central and state government. Total estimated hydro power potential is more than 20,000 MW. Despite the fact that government of Jammu and Kashmir (UT) has larger share of power coming from local resources and needs less transmission expenditure, the charges levied especially on domestic consumption needs critical analysis to spare poor people from unbearable electric bills.Leaders of AAP said that this is therefore reiterated that the genuine demand of 300 units of electric consumption be allowed free of charges to all domestic connections to mitigate discriminatory treatment given to the people of Jammu and Kashmir unlike the people of Union Territory of Delhi. We request your office to instruct concerned government authority to accord due priority and adopt Delhi Model in the interest of larger welfare of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
