SAMBA: Police on Tuesday foiled an attempt to smuggle bovines by rescuing 8 bovines and arresting 2 bovine smugglers at Ghagwal.
As per details, acting on reliable information regarding smuggling of bovines towards valley, a party from Police Station Ghagwal laid a vehicle checking Naka at NH, Tapyal and intercepted two Mahindra vehicles (JK21B-6947 & JK08H-7466) moving towards Valley. While checking, a total of 8 bovines (4 from each vehicle) were found laden inside vehicles without permission, which were rescued. Both the accused drivers were arrested and a case vide FIR No. 137/2020 under section 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act was registered against them at Police Station Ghagwal and investigation started.
