STATE TIMES NEWSSAMBA: Calamity on farmers continued as 50 Kanals wheat was destroyed in fire at border village Chak Dulma in Rajpura area. Farmers were helpless to see their hard work going in vain although local people with help of BSF came to their rescue and put efforts to stop spread of fire. Fire Brigade team also reached the spot but by then it was too late to save crop.Ex Sarpanch Dharm Paul Sharma, while speaking to the media, said that cause of fire is not known but it has caused a severe damage to crop. He also blamed Fire & Emergency Services Department for delay in reaching spot. The farmers whose crop got damaged include Prem Paul, Dev Raj, Ashok Kumar, Prem Lal, Prakash Chand, Ajeet, Kali Das, Des Raj and Omkar Nath. He also demanded adequate compensation for their damage.
