STATE TIMES NEWSBhadarwah: With an aim to revive the dwindling green cover and to boost the afforestation drive of Union Government, 33rd battalion of CRPF planted Over 4 thousands saplings of 19 indigenous tree species in Sarna Panchayat of Jammu and Kashmir’s additional district Bhadarwah on Sunday under a massive drive led by 2IC Neeraj Tayagi.The 2IC of 33rd battalion CRPF Neeraj Tayagi, along with the other officers and Jawans of the unit based at Bhadarwah planted a total of 4,500 trees.Neeraj Tayagi, Deputy Commandant 33 Bn CRPF while addressing the Jawans, said that in this era of urbanization we are losing the green cover rapidly.“Trees give us oxygen which has become a rare thing for the people living in urban areas. This drive will help restoring the green cover and to provide pure oxygen to the people suffering with the problems of pollution,” Tayagi added, appealing people to be a part of mission to protect forests and plant trees for healthy environment.Neeraj Tayagi said that we have successfully accomplished our annual mass plantation target across the district. Despite the pandemic, we got help from all the concerned corners which added to our strength.
