42 FIRs registered against COVID-19 SoPs violators in two days



Poonch: Acting tough action against violators of COVID-19 SoPs, the District Police Poonch has registered 42 FIRs under relevant sections of law against violators in last two days. Senior Superintendent of Police Dr Vinod Kumar, in an official statement, said that teams at police stations and police posts launched drive to check violations of COVID-19 guidelines and SOPs. He said that during last two days i.e., Tuesday and Wednesday, a number of people including drivers of vehicles were found violating COVID-19 guidelines. He further informed that 397 persons were found roaming without face masks and a fine to the tune of Rs 85,000 has been realised from them. “We appeal to the people of Poonch to adhere to COVID-19 guidelines and SoPs and not put their lives at risk,” said SSP Poonch. He also appealed to general public to visit the town only in case of extreme emergencies to avoid spread of deadly coronavirus.
