32nd J&K Volleyball Championship in March 2021 at Rajouri



JAMMU: The Volleyball Association of J&K (VAJK) has decided to hold 32nd J&K Senior Men Volleyball Championship at Rajouri in first week of March 2021 whereas 32nd J&K Juniors (Boys & Girls championship) will be held in third week of March 2021 at Jammu. It was decided during the Executive members / Special General body/ office bearers meeting of the Volleyball Association of J&K, held under Chairmanship of Raj Daluja, Patron-In-Chief and Co-Chaired by Sidharth Daluja, President, Volleyball Association of J&K at Lemon Tree Hotel Jammu on Saturday.
While addressing the meeting, Raj Daluja, Patron-In-Chief announced that the best four teams of the Championship would be provided sports-kits by him on the occasion.
President Sidharth Daluja, while addressing the house, thanked all office bearers/Volleyball lovers for honouring him on his nomination as Associate Joint Secretary of Volleyball Federation of India. In his presidential address, he urged the members to maintain transparency in submission of accounts and uphold credibility of the Association as per traditions laid down by stalwarts of the Association.
The members of association conveyed heartiest thanks to Volleyball Federation of India (VFI), the apex body of volleyball game in India, for induction of Sidharth Daluja, President VAJK as Associate Joint Secretary, Kuldeep Magotra Chief Executive Officer as Associate Secretary, R C Sharma Treasurer as Convener Technical Committee & Vijay Kumar Magotra General Secretary as Member of Disciplinary Committee of Volleyball Federation of India.
The members also congratulated four Volleyball State referees from J&K Bhawana Sharma, Anil Kumar, Manzoor Bhat and Sidharth for qualifying examination of National Volleyball Referees held by VFI at KIIT University Bhubneshwar, Odisha during Senior Volleyball Championship 2020. Bhawana Sharma has become the first National Volleyball referee from J&K UT and would inspire many females in Volleyball from J&K UT in Coming Years.
All agenda points were discussed threadbare for promotion of Volleyball in the UT. The report of 2 years i.e., 2019-20 & 2020-21 was presented by General Secretary Vijay Kumar Magotra. He disclosed that despite COVID-19 pandemic, 12 out of total 17 district Volleyball Associations have concluded district Championship. Holding of Premier League J&K Volleyball, first of its kind, by J&K Sports Council in collaboration with Volleyball Association of J&K has been hailed by all members.
The first phase of league has been completed in Kashmir division and in Rajouri/ Poonch districts of Jammu division.
During the meeting, R C Sharma Treasurer also gave details of audited reports. Kuldeep Magotra Chief Executive Officer (VAJK) conducted the proceedings of the meetings and thanked all members, especially those who came from far flung districts namely Poonch, Kupwara, Kulgam, Shopian, Rajouri, Kathua and Udhampur districts for their participation and valuable suggestions. The meeting ended with a vote of thanks to the chair.
Prior to it, office bearers also thanked VFI/JK Sports Council/J&K Olympic Association for their cooperation, guidance and time to time suggestions for successful conduct of various domestic and National Volleyball championships.
S Hardeep Singh Gill Executive Vice President; Krishan Lal Sharma former Divisional Sports Officer and District Secretary Poonch; Sujad Hussain and Mohd Tariq Joint Secretaries, Akbar Ali Office Secretary besides other Executive members of VAJK including Vivek Sharma, Subash Shastri, Suresh Singh, Roshan Lal, Rimpy Khajuria, Manpreet Kour, Veena Kumari and Rajesh Choudhary and District Secretaries Mohinder Sharma (Kathua), Balwinder Singh (Samba), Gurdev Singh (Kupwara), Nelofar Habib (Kulgam) and Shabir Malik (President District Shopian) were also present during the meeting.
