KATHUA: Three-day 32nd District Kathua Volleyball Championship for (boys & girls) being organised by District Volleyball Association Kathua under the aegis of Volleyball Association of Jammu and Kashmir commenced at volleyball ground, Ram Lila Club Koota, Hiranagar here on Friday.The tournament, in which 12 boys teams and two girls teams of district Kathua are participating, was inaugurated by Ram Lal Kalia, Chairman Block Development Council Hiranagar.Large number of people of Koota village and adjoining areas witnessed the matches.All the office-bearers of District Kathua Volleyball Association namely Madan Lal Toofan (President), Attar Singh (Senior Vice- President), Mohinder Sharma (General Secretary), Ram Lal (Joint Secretary) and Madan Lal (Coach) were present.Prominent persons present were M L Toofan, President of District Volleyball Association Kathua, Mohinder Sharma, General Secretary, Ram Lal Sharma, Madan Lal Coach, Kant Kumar Ex-Sarpanch, Ranjana Dev Sarpanch Koota, Keshav Sharma President Koota Club, Om Parkash Sangra, ?oswamy and Sadiq.Today’s results: Volleyball Club Koota beat Ward No 1 Hiranagar Volleyball Club by 2-1 (25-19, 18-15, 7-15); Hatli Volleyball Club outplayed Koota ‘B’ team by 2-0 (25-15, 25-13); Volleyball Club Katal Gujran defeated Gurah Mundian team by 2-0 (25-23, 25-23).
