JAMMU: Police on Friday nabbed three thieves and recovered 20 stolen batteries from their possession.
As per details, on December, 22 2020, Tara Chand, son of Lal Chand, resident of upper Gadigarh lodged a complaint at Police Post Gadigarh that some unknown person/ persons has stolen battery of his matador (JK02BN 2507). On this, a FIR vide No. 256/2020 under Section 379 IPC was registered at Police Station Satwari. In order to work out the case, as a number of complaints were reported regarding theft of motor vehicle batteries in Police Station Satwari, a special police team under the command of SHO Police Station Satwari Insp Nishant Gupta, assisted by SI Lakhvir Singh ICPP Gadigarh was constituted. The team after hectic efforts rounded up three suspects namely Hilal Sheikh, son of Saleem Sheikh, resident of Murshidabad (West Bengal), at present Ranibagh Gadigarh; Milan Sheikh, son of Noor Aslam Sheikh, resident of Murshidabad (West Bengal) at present Rohi Morh Gadigarh and Deepu alias Motto, son of Mohan Lal, resident of Govindpura Chatha for questioning. During sustained interrogation, the suspects confessed their involvement in crime and on their disclosure, stolen Amaron battery along with other 19 batteries and a vibrator machine, suspected to be stolen from different locations, were recovered. Recovery and arrest of accused was affected under close supervision of SDPO City South Parshotam Kumar Mengi, SP City South Jammu Deepak Dingra and overall supervision of SSP Jammu Shridhar Patil.
