SAMBA: Continuing its drive against bovines smuggling, Police on Wednesday foiled attempt to smuggle bovines by rescuing 26 bovines and arrested two bovine smugglers.As per details, a party from Police Station Ghagwal led by Kuldeep Raj SHO Ghagwal, while Naka checking at NH Tapyal, Ghagwal intercepted a truck (Tralla) bearing registration No UP22AT-0816, which was coming from Kathua side and moving towards Valley. During checking of vehicle, 22 bovines were found laden inside vehicle without any permission, which were rescued. The accused driver, identified as Akeel Ahmed, son of Shakeel Ahmed, resident of Bilaspur-Rampur, Uttar-Pradesh and associate Mohd Taseem, son of Sabbir Ahmed, resident of Pipal Sana, Ahatmali-Moradabad, Uttar-Pradesh were arrested on spot and a case vide FIR No. 58/2021 under sections 188 of IPC, 11 of PCA Act and 184 of MV Act was registered against them at Police Station Ghagwal. Meanwhile, Satwari police also rescued 4 bovines from a truck (JK02CQ-0410) at Dabbad area, however smugglers managed to escape from the spot.
