21 bovines rescued, 3 smugglers nabbed



UDHAMPUR/R S PURA: Police on Monday foiled two bovine smuggling bids by rescuing 21 bovines and arrested 3 smugglers.
As per details, during Naka checking, a party from Police Post Tikri led by Insp. Jaswinder Singh under supervision of Sahil Mahajan DySP Hqrs Udhampur signaled a truck (JK 12A 7454) to stop for checking, but it fled from the Naka. The vehicle was chased by police and apprehended a little ahead. During search, 17 bovines were found laden in vehicle, which were rescued. The smuggler namely Mohd Irfan, son of Jinga Hassan, resident of Saharanpur, UP was arrested and a case under relevant section of law was registered against him at Police Station Rehambal.
Meanwhile, during Naka by Police Station R S Pura at Baspur Bangla, a party led by In-Charge Police Post Baspur Bangla Mohinder Singh intercepted a vehicle (JK21G/4180), but driver of vehicle tried to flee. Alert Police intercepted the vehicle and found 4 bovines laden in it, which were rescued. The accused, identified as Kulbir Singh alias Gogi, son of Sardool Singh, resident of R S Pura and Roshan Lal, son of Chaman Lal, resident of Bishnah, were arrested on spot and a case vide FIR No 58/2021 under section 188 of IPC and 3 of PC Act was registered against them at Police Station R S Pura.
