20 bovines rescued; 2 smugglers arrested


BHADARWAH/RAJOURI: Police on Sunday rescued 20 bovines in two separate actions and arrested two smugglers.
Bhadarwah Police under the supervision of SP Bhadarwah Raj Singh Gouria and SDPO Bhadarwah Meer Gafoor thwarted a bid to smuggle 10 bovines in Basti area of Bhadarwah late last night.
According to reports, smugglers namely Sajid Shah, Usman wani his father Fareed Kachara ,Wasim Ahmad and Sajid Shah Sons of Rafiq Shah and Salman son of Fareed, Kachira along with 10 Bovine animals were stopped by Police at Basti area of tehsil Bhadarwah.
According to Police, out of total 5 smugglers, Sajid Shah and Usman Wani were arrested where as 3 others gave slip to Police under cover of darkness and dense forest. All 10 bovines were rescued from the spot. In this regard, a case FIR No 55/2021 under relevant section of law was registered at Police Station Bhadarwah.
Meanwhile, Thannamandi police also rescued 10 bovines, which were being transported in a truck (JK12A-6939), however smuggler managed to flee from the spot.
