2 notorious drug peddlers arrested


SRINAGAR: Continuing its efforts to eradicate menace of drugs from society, Police has arrested two notorious drug peddlers in Handwara and recovered contraband substance from their possession.
As per the details, a party from Police Station Vilgam at a checkpoint intercepted a vehicle (Estilo) bearing registration number HP26A377 with two persons onboard, who were identified as Mohd Gulzar Mir, son of Gh Mohi ud Din Mir and Shoib Ahmad Bhat, son of Mohd Gulzar Bhat, both residents of Amargad, Tarathpora. During search, officers were able to recover 80 grams of Charas from their possession. They were arrested and shifted to police station where they remained in custody. Accordingly, FIR numbers 49/2021 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Vilgam and investigation has been initiated.
It is pertinent to mention here that accused Gulzar Ahmad Mir is a notorious drug peddler and has major role in involving people in drug menace, especially youth.
