SRINAGAR: Acting tough against drug dealings, Police in Awantipora arrested two notorious drug peddlers and recovered contraband substance along with cash amounting to Rs 50,000 from their possession.As per details, officers at a check point established at Reshipora Bunpora near irrigation gauge intercepted a Santro (JK03B-9591) with two persons onboard. They were identified as Gulazar Ahmad Ganie, resident of Braw Bandina and Bilal Ahamd Bhat, resident of Kulpora Lassipora Pulwama.During checking, 2.20 Kg of Charas along with cash amounting to Rs 50,000 was recovered from their possession. They were arrested on the spot and shifted to Police Station where they remained under custody.The vehicle used in the commission of the crime has also been seized.Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 01/2021 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Awantipora and further investigation has been initiated.
