STATE TIMES NEWSSAMBA: Police on Thursday foiled an attempt to smuggle bovine by rescuing 19 bovines, however smuggler managed to escape from the spot. As per the details, acting on reliable information regarding transportation of bovines, a party of Police station Ghagwal led by SHO Rakesh Sharma while performing vehicle checking duty at Naka NH Tapyal, Ghagwal signalled to stop a Truck (NL01N /9277) coming from Kathua side and moving towards Valley. Instead of stopping the vehicle, the driver accelerated the speed of the vehicle but the alert cops successfully chased and intercepted the vehicle few metres away from the Naka point. However driver managed to escape from the spot taking the advantage of darkness. During checking of the said vehicle, 19 cattle were found laden in it which were rescued. FIR No. 163/2021 under section 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act was registered at Police Station Ghagwal and investigation started.
