SAMBA: Continuing its drive against bovines smuggling, Police on Tuesday foiled an attempt to smuggle bovines by rescuing 18 bovines and arrested a bovine smuggler. As per details, a party of Police Station Ghagwal led by Rakesh Sharma while performing vehicle checking duty at Naka national highway Tapyal, Ghagwal intercepted a truck (JK02AU-7659) which was coming from Kathua side and moving towards Valley. During checking of vehicle, 18 bovines were found laden inside it, which were rescued. The accused driver, identified as Mulkh Raj, son of Faquir Chand, resident of R S Pura, Jammu was arrested and a case vide FIR No. 64/2021 under Section 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act was registered against him at Police Station Ghagwal.
