18 bovines rescued, 2 smugglers held



KATHUA: Police on Tuesday foiled a bovine smuggling bid by rescuing 18 cattle and arrested two smugglers.
As per details, a team of Police Station Rajbagh led by Insp Amit Sangra SHO Rajbagh under supervision of SDPO Border Sachit Mahajan while on Naka checking duty at NH Rajbagh noticed movement of a suspicious truck (JK02BT-6357) moving from Kathua towards Samba and directed it to stop. The vehicle was being driven by one Nisaar Ahmed, son of Gh Kader Khan, while his accomplice was identified as Showket Ahmed Mughal, son of Abdul Reyaz Mughal, both residents of Doru, District Anantnag.
During physical checking, 18 bovines were found laden in the aforesaid vehicle which were rescued and both accused were arrested. FIR No 211/2021 under sections 188 of IPC, 11 of PCA Act has been registered against them at Rajbagh Police Station.
