KATHUA: Lakhanpur police foiled a bovine smuggling bid by rescuing 16 bovines and arrested a smuggler.
As per details, a police team led by Insp Sanjeev Chib SHO Police Station Lakhanpur, while on Naka checking duty at Truck Terminal Toll Plaza Lakhanpur, intercepted a truck (JK14B-6643) coming from Punjab and signaled it to stop. During checking, 16 bovines were found laden in vehicle, which were rescued. The accused driver, namely Narinder Singh, son of Pal Singh, resident of Dauwal Tehsil and District Gurdaspur Punjab was arrested and a case vide FIR No 114/2020 under Section 188 of IPC and 11 of PC Act was registered against him.
