UDHAMPUR: Police on Wednesday foiled a bovine smuggling bid by rescuing 15 bovines and arrested a smuggler.As per details, based on specific information, a party of Police Station Udhampur led by Insp Vijay Singh Choudhary SHO laid a Naka at Jakhani NH for checking of vehicles. During Naka checking, police intercepted a vehicle (JK20A 4418) for checking and found it laden with 15 bovines without any valid permission. All bovine animals were rescued and the accused, identified as Mohd Mushtaq, son of Abdul Rahim, resident of Ward No.06, Talwara, Reasi, was arrested on spot. A case under relevant section of law was registered at Police Station Udhampur and further investigation is underway.
