SRINAGAR: Over a dozen Panchayat representatives besides three contesting candidates for DDC elections from different areas of Sonwar-Srinagar constituency on Sunday joined the Apni Party.The joining ceremony took place in presence of Apni Party provincial president and former minister Mohammad Ashraf Mir at his residence at Athwajan-Srinagar.Those who joined the Apni Party included: Mohammad Shaban Chopan independent DDC contesting candidate from Harwan-6 Dara, Farooq Ahmad Ganaie independent DDC contesting candidate from Harwan-3 Khimber, Naveed Ahmad independent DDC contesting candidate from Khonmoh-3, Hilal Ahmad Rather (Sarpanch Dara-B) former NC worker, Abdul Ahad Rather (Panch Dara-B) former NC worker, Mehraj-ud-Din Rather Panch Dara-B, Zahid Gul former NC worker (Panch Dara-B), Hajira Sarpanch Khonmoh, Parveena Panch Balhama-A, Shazada Panch Balhama-A, Mohammad Yaseen Lone Balhama-A, Ashiq Hussain from Balhama, Rubiya Panch Khimber, Jan Mohammad Reshi Panch Khimber, Mymoona Panch Khimber, Tanveer Hussain Mir Balhama, Gulam Nabi Reshi Panch Syedpora, Mohammad Ibrahim Bhat Panch Syedpora, Rafeeqa Panch Syedpora, Haleema Begum Panch Syedpora, Molvi Mushtaq from Ishber Nishat, Dawood Ahmad Prominent NC worker from Vethpara, Bashir Ahmad Dar Prominent NC worker from Balhama and Gulam Hussain Wani Balhama.Welcoming the new entrants into the party-fold, Mohammad Ashraf Mir said that Apni Party’s agenda is based on pragmatism and it stands committed to the socio-economic and political empowerment of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.“Though Apni Party was formed some ten months ago, the people across Jammu and Kashmir have realized the difference and have started reposing their trust and confidence in the Party’s leadership. I wholeheartedly welcome and express my gratitude to the people for their support and affection,” Mir remarked.He said the Apni Party under the leadership of its dynamic president Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari has devoted itself to work tirelessly for restoration of Statehood, domicile laws for protection of land and jobs besides an equitable development of all regions and sub regions in Jammu and Kashmir.He urged the new entrants to work for strengthening of the party at grassroots level besides working for the welfare of people in their respective areas.
